Unicef Day for Change

On 24th may every class took part in a fun day which raised money for the great charity Unicef which help kids in countries like Syria be happy and have a good life. On Unicef Day parents were invited to the school to many different stalls and the money was sent to Unicef. Children also wore blue because that is Unicef’s main colour.

The money Unicef supplies gives the poor clothes, food, medicine and a clean water supply. it makes a huge difference to other family’s lives.

On the day children ran different stalls like

  • Baking
  • Books and Toys
  • Beat the goalie
  • Guess the birthday of the teddy
  • Candyfloss
  • Cafe

We enjoyed Unicef day and we hope we have made a difference to some other Families in different Countries.

Proceeds are still being counted but we raised approx. £250!!

Science and technology with Class 4

This week class 4 had an AMAZING time at Sky Academy and the science fair! On Tuesday the 16th of May class 4 went to Sky Academy Skills Studio to film a news report about young voters and how they can change the amount of voters.

When they got there they were happily greeted by some friendly staff. They showed them into a bright colourful room and introduced themselves. Everyone was brought into a cinema type room and they watched a inspiring video which told them about each job and what you had to do.

Next we watched a brilliant video including Ashley Banjo. then they got separated into their groups to start working and finish the scripts that they wrote. They used ipads for a script to read from.

After they split into 4 groups we had 50 minutes to practice and film their report.

The groups were in studio,on location, eye witness and expert witness

After they made their film they watched the report and were all impressed by the video.

As well as this, we had a great Science Fair on Thursday. We hope you enjoy the photos!

Class 4 rugby and hillwalking

Class 4 have had a busy few weeks where we have been doing things like rugby and hill walking! On Tuesday 25th of April the first group of keen hill walkers set off to attempt to climb to the top of Castle Law,a hill in the Pentlands. The group of children were half of class 4. The other half went the next week on Thursday 4th of May. Both groups managed to get to the top of the hill which was a big achievement for all of them. Class 4 have also been lucky enough to be taught rugby by Amy. Amy has been teaching them touch rugby. Touch rugby is rugby without contact. Class 4 have had two lessons so far and have enjoyed them very much.
