Following the recent visit of the NSPCC to Moorfoot PS, they have provided some helpful information for parents and carers.

The materials shared are designed to help parents of  all primary school aged children.

A resource for parents aimed at keeping children safe on social networks – information here

The NSPCC Schools Service recently visited our school to provide the children with key messages about keeping safe.  It can be beneficial for these messages to be reinforced at home.

The NSPCC has developed some guides for all parents of primary school aged children  to speak to your child about keeping safe – called the Underwear rule.

 You can find guides to the Underwear Rule to help you have simple conversations about keeping safe from abuse at www.nspcc.org.uk/underwear

 You can speak to an advisor for further advice or request a hard-copy guide for parents and carers by phoning the NSPCC Helpline on 0808 800 5000. You can also visit www.nspcc.org.uk/parents for other advice on keeping your child safe.

PTG Duck Race – Sunday 7th October @ 3PM

->Moorfoot Primary Annual Duck Race<-

->Sunday 7th October 2018 <-

->3pm @ Fushiebridge<-

We look forward to seeing many of you at our Annual Duck Race this Sunday 7th October at 3pm.

Can we ask that all sold duck forms and monies are handed in to school by Thursday 4th October so that we can allocate people ducks.

It is £1 per duck and there are fantastic prices to be won! Please keep selling and let’s make this first fundraiser of the year a big success.
All funds raised go back into the school to provide exciting experiences for our children.

Many thanks for your continued support.

Head Teacher Welcome

I am delighted to be writing to you as the new Acting Head Teacher of Moorfoot Primary School and would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.

During my 10 years with Midlothian Council, I have worked in a number of schools across the authority as a Class Teacher, Principal Teacher and Depute Head.

It is a privilege to be leading Moorfoot Primary School and I would like to thank everyone for making me feel so welcome already. I plan to spend time in each of our classes this week to get to know the children better but I have been extremely impressed by the kind and positive ethos across the school.

I recognise that change can be unsettling, therefore if there is anything you wish to discuss with me, please do not hesitate to contact the school office to arrange a meeting with myself.

I look forward to working in partnership with you to ensure the best learning experiences for the children.

Best wishes.

Moorfoot Primary School PTG Summer Fair

Message from the PTG:

A huge thank you to everyone that helped out and attended the Fair today. The children appeared to have a super day and thankfully the rain stayed off for us!
This was Moorfoot’s first Summer Fair and I think it was a fantastic effort by all. You’ll be delighted to hear we raised just under £600 profit! Great work everyone!
Have a relaxing weekend.

Best wishes,
Moorfoot PTG
